It all started with hearsay, someone new someone who new someone who heard that there were a couple of CV8’s at Summit Holden with very low km’s, well I thought to myself that’s on the way home from work, so I will check it out.

 

It was about 9.40pm and there it was, a Red CV8 with only 5000km, I couldn’t believe my luck.  At work the next morning I called at 0830 and enquired about the Red CV8, did it really have only 5000km after they assured me I hadn’t read it wrong, I  got them to hold it for me until I finished work.  At approx 5.55pm I arrived at the yard and got to check it out for myself, there was Silver one parked near by, but no I only had eyes for the red one.  The next morning I arrived early to take her for a test drive; she was everything I dreamed of and with so much more to offer.  When we arrived back at the yard and the salesman said, you know the silver one has only done 5000km’s as well, I said I looked at that one and it’s done 50,000km’s, but when I had a closer look it also had low km’s.

 

 What to do now a choice of 2?.. I went home and had a long hard think about this, do I really need a Monaro, with a 5.7litre motor in a time of high petrol prices?

 

 No I don’t really need it but I want it, so back I went.  Now the decision which one, mmmm The Quick Silver is definitely the one for me.  That was it, 2 days later she’s mine and were leaving the yard together.  It turns out that these Monaro’s belonged to the Bob Jane Corporation and were part of his private collection.

 

 He would be sad at having to sell them, but he will never know how happy he has made me.  I have the car of my dreams and it’s virtually brand new.
